Player controls - VSL
In this article, we'll detail how each feature of VSL's player controls works. Here, you'll find a complete guide to understanding all of our player's options, allowing you to customize your experience according to your needs and make the most of the available features.
Starting editing
- To start editing your VSL's controls, simply select the VSL you want and click on the โEdit VSLโ option.
PLAYER CONTROL
- Simply click on Player Control to access the features below.
Primary Color
Defines the primary color used in the player's controls.
How does it work?
- Customizes the player's appearance to match the site's visual identity.
- Applies to buttons, progress bar and other visual elements.
- The percentage bar adjusts the intensity of the color, making it stronger or more discreet according to your needs.
When to use it?
- To maintain brand identity when embedding videos on the site.
- To improve the user's visual experience.
Big Play button
This button is a larger visual element positioned over the video before playback.
How does it work?
- It appears before the user starts the video.
- When clicked, it starts playback immediately.
- It disappears as soon as the video starts.
When to use?
- To encourage the user to start playback.
- When the video is embedded in a page and needs to attract more attention.
Play button
This button allows the user to start and pause video playback as required.
How does it work?
- When pressed, it starts or pauses the video.
- Usually located in the bottom left-hand corner of the player.
When to use it?
- Whenever it is necessary to give the user control over video playback.
Volume Control
Allows you to choose whether the user can adjust the volume of the video.
How does it work?
- The volume control allows the user to adjust the audio level of the video. You can define whether the video will be played with the volume on or without sound.
- A slider allows you to increase or decrease the volume.
- If the volume is reduced to zero, the video can be considered muted.
When to use?
- When the user needs to adjust the volume to their preference.
- When the video contains audio and you want to allow dynamic volume adjustments without relying on device control.
Progress Bar
The progress bar shows the current point in the video playback. You can then choose whether the bar will appear to the user or not
**How does it work?
- The progress bar displays the current point in the video's playback, allowing the user to see the time elapsed and the time remaining. It can also be used to move forward or backward directly to a specific point in the video. You can choose whether to show or hide this bar to the user, depending on your preference.
**When to use it?
- When you want to allow the user to follow the progress of the video and have control over the navigation.
- When it is important for the user to be able to easily move forward or backward to a specific point in the video.
Show Time
This feature displays the playing time of the video, both the current time and the total duration.
**How does it work?
- The current playing time is displayed below the progress bar, allowing users to follow the progress of the video. This helps to visualize the time remaining and improves organization during viewing.
- You will have the option to choose whether or not the user can see the remaining time of the video.
**When to use it?
- When you want to give the user a clear and precise view of the video's playing time.
- When it is important for the user to know the remaining time in order to better plan their content consumption.
Full Screen Mode
Full screen mode allows you to expand the video to take up the entire screen.
**How does it work?
- By clicking on the full screen icon, the video will be maximized to occupy the entire screen area, providing a more immersive view.
- You can choose whether the full screen icon is displayed or not, giving you more control over the interface.
**When to use it?
- Use full screen mode for videos that require greater immersion, such as presentations, tutorials or rich visual content. It's a great option when you want the user to have a more intense and focused viewing experience.
Rewind 5 Seconds
Allows the user to quickly rewind the video in 5-second intervals.
How does it work?
- By clicking the button, the video goes back 5 seconds in playback.
- It can be used several times to go back even further.
When to use it?
- When the user needs to review a specific part of the video.
Forward 5 Seconds
Allows the user to fast-forward through the video in 5-second intervals.
How does it work?
- By clicking the button, the video advances 5 seconds in playback.
- It can be used repeatedly to advance even further.
When to use?
- When the user wants to skip part of the content.
Page Background Color
Allows the user to change the background color as they wish, often helping to visualize the action of your VSL.
**Once you've finished editing your controls, click SAVE to keep your changes working the way you've chosen.
